InFECT‑NL is the national hub for early‑phase clinical research on infectious diseases and innovative anti‑infectious therapies. As part of the FAST hub network, InFECT‑NL strengthens the national infrastructure for therapy development by uniting expertise, facilities, and research capacity in the field of infectious diseases.

The hub is an initiative of Radboudumc, UMC Utrecht, Amsterdam UMC and LUMC, with the ambition to connect all academic medical centers in the Netherlands within one integrated network. Through this collaboration, the Netherlands can respond more rapidly and effectively to urgent infectious disease challenges and accelerate the development of new interventions.

InFECT‑NL focuses on the design and execution of early‑phase clinical studies, including first‑in‑human research, challenge models, and proof‑of‑concept studies. By sharing knowledge, data, facilities, and patient populations, the hub creates a robust national infrastructure that supports researchers, companies, and societal partners in developing safe and effective anti‑infectious therapies.

The hub is facilitated by FAST, the independent national expertise center that stimulates innovation in therapy development.
